I'm told the Wilderness has turned into an enormous mall, full of stores. It's the perfect opportunity to restock, but I'll need some extra hands. Anyone interested in some temporary work? Depending on how much response I get, it'll be a few hours a day for as long as the Wilderness stays this way--likely the next couple of weeks

Well, I think of all the people who knew me as Nova, and it makes me sad. But I don't think I can be her--I just have to be me, as well as I know how.
[Leaning her hands on the edge of the counter, she dipped up on tiptoe, then down again.]
Toushi... seems to think I'm sort of the same, but separate from the rest of you. I'm not really sure what that means.

[She chuckled at Kagerou's next words.] Well, if that's all the explanation he gave, I can't blame you. Was he any more specific than that?

I mentioned the swords, right? He thinks since I don't seem to have a sword, I'm not like the rest of you. But you have... some sort of extraordinary skills, don't you? I don't think I have anything like that.

Mm-hm, I see. I don't feel special in any way, but someone did teach me to... defend myself. I've been to the dojo a few times, just on my own.
[Her head dipped at that. Bastet was so lithe and graceful, control and power evident in her movement. Who was she to even speak of a few basic punches and blocks here?]
You said... that she was strong. How do you mean that?

Oh? One day we'll have to spar, if you're interested.
[She gave her a small, wry smile.]
Well...she was a strong person. She didn't give herself enough credit for all the ways she was there for others. And I believe with a little more confidence, she could have done even more.

I don't know how good I am, but I would like to learn more. Yes, thank you.
... I see. She sounds like such a good person.
[She knit her brows as another thought intruded.]
Miss... Um, Bastet. This world we come from, how much do you know about it? I'm really asking because there are these... things in my memories. They seem like they're monsters, but there's something familiar about them at the same time.

Not a whole lot, unfortunately. I believe we fought against creatures with bone masks...is that what you're talking about?

[Kagerou pushed herself upright, somewhat abruptly.]
Anyway, thank you for this. I was supposed to work here, right, not steal you for the entire afternoon?

[Bastet blinked, then smiled at Kagerou's sudden change of subject and manner.]
Anytime. And right, your assignment. [She paused.] Do you have anyone to go to the Wilderness with? If you go alone, you won't be able to find your way back to the elevator.

[She tapped a finger on her hip, looking around the shop.]
How about this--once you find someone to go down there with, bring me back any skirts and dresses you can find, in various sizes and styles. I'll pay you *insert fair and generous hourly wage here*. How does that sound?

That sounds more than generous to me, really. And skirts and dresses, roger that! I should probably find some sort of a bag, shouldn't I?
And... [She reached forward, clasped Bastet's hand for a quick squeeze, and then let go.] I was very glad to meet you, too.

[She returned the squeeze, giving her an easy smile.]
We'll keep in touch, kiddo.
(ooc: Shall we call this a wrap?)
