Loyalty
Though Killick tended to nag and complain about certain habits of Captain Jack Aubrey and Dr Stephen Maturin--chief among them being their preference for playing classical music--one thing he never nagged or complained about was when the music stopped, replaced by altogether different sounds. These sounds, musical in their own ways, told the story of a deep love between two men. Something Killick would never think to betray. He had given his loyalty to both men and would never betray it, regardless of how they scraped and screeched on their instruments instead of playing proper jigs and reels.
