Since we (here in the US, anyway) are coming upon a long weekend, and since I will be having some out-patient surgery and won't be able to get to the LoC for about a week, I thought I'd leave you all with at least a blurb of what the 2nd episode was about.

Hey, sorry if you told me this before, but when is the surgery? I had an idea it was coming up, but does your mention of it here mean you're going in for it this coming week?

No, I didn't give the specifics. The surgery is Monday. I imagine it will put me out of rotation for a couple days, at least.

Good luck with your surgery.

Definitely didn't know anything about this one. It does sound like it's got those annoying plot devices which are the whole reason I don't watch a lot of TV(they get into a bar brawl, they have to hide in the bushes so Max misses his first day of worl::eyerolls::, how much more "contrived drama" can you get?:) But still the pilot did leave me wanting to see more so it had something.

I would like to know what Maggie's problem is. I think I wanted to smack her with her "I'm getting scared again" thing in the Pilot. It's like "Grow up - being "scared" is not a reason to play games with people's emotions, either you love him or you don't and if you do but still don't want to be with him, be straight about it, don't use the "I'm scare of my feelings" ploy.

How did Jensen do this time out?

I'll be putting together a more detailed recap (ala the one I posted for the Pilot) when I'm back in the game and have a chance to do so.

The brawl and ensuing sibling arguments and Max/Maggie conversations actually go a lot toward developing character and expositing on backstory.

As for Maggie's issues . . . we find out she was engaged to Jake, and she still wears the ring. VOJ tells her not to put the ring away, that he's still around. So whether or not Maggie is actually still in love with him, or Jake actually turns out to be a spirit haunting those he loved . . . remains to be seen.

Ooh, thank you.

I'll tell you what . . . in some of those pictures, his eyes are so amazingly bright, and green, they literally make my own eyes water. It's what ficwriter1966 calls "like looking into the sun."

And there are some really cute pics of him with the girls, too. Aw!

Though interestingly, no publicity shots of him and Morena Baccarin (or did I miss something?). And now that I think of it, other than the one "returning home" scene, he hasn't had any real interactive scenes with his mom. Hm.

Hi there, and sorry for the late reply.

These being part of the Library of Congress's collection, anyone can view these eps. The catch is that you have to travel to the Library of Congress's National Audio/Visual Conservation Center for research purposes. Having easy access to these tapes is one of the perks to being married to an LoC film geek.

I'm not sure FOX could be convinced to release these, since only a screener ep of the pilot is floating around. Still, it would be nice for us fans.

Just to keep things in perspective . . . while I do get to see these TV episodes, and I'm enjoying them thoroughly, I am not one of the lucky fans who have actually seen and/or met Jensen (or Jared) in person at a convention (or play). It's all a matter of opportunity. :-)
