I KNEW IT. About halfway through I had AN IDEA, and I was right! Although I have to say, if Sam could reach out with gloves, then surely he could have, like, written something on his hand? Given Dean a note?

I hope Sam was able to nab Cas, too.

Yes, this thought occurred to me as well, but it turns out that paper isn't as easy to send through the event horizon as you might think. Took Sam a while to figure out he couldn't send paper, but he could send pastries.

Scrying items are weird like that, I guess. ;-)

ETA: Ah, I just re-read your comment. Something written on his hand. I'll have to talk to Sam and see if he tried that. I know he could only reach one hand through at a time, and I know that a lot of times, his hand was pretty torn up. Not sure if he tried writing on his hand and it didn't work or not. Hm . . . .

Creepy. I like the idea of a scary 'Thing'. Very cool, especially since we probably won't get to see Purgatory on the show.

ETA: Oh and the twist at the end was awesome :)

Thanks so much! I'm delighted you enjoyed it. Like Dean (or perhaps Dean likes him because I do), I've always kind of enjoyed Thing. So when Sam kept reaching through the scrying screen, how could I not make such a nod. :-)

Thanks so much!
