I've gotta rent and re-watch SIT with my mom. I know she won't remember it from last time and she liked it then, so she'll prolly like it now. Seymour really is just exquisite, isn't she? Watch the Scarlett Pimpernel for more proof. And for Ian McKellan being and AWESOME villain.
Avatar was...fun. I really enjoyed it. But I had no desire to re-watch it and I could tell exactly how it was going to end fifteen minutes in. Disney's Pocahontas starring a bunch of popular supporting characters from Cameron's other films.
(Also, the Abyss is an awesome movie, esp the director's cut. *hugs it*)
Re: The Abyss . . . the director's cut is the only version to watch. I've never seen the theatrical release cut, but I did watch the movie (director's cut) with a bunch of people who had only seen the theatrical release. There was a lot of "Oh!!!!! NOW it makes sense!" When Geo told me they essentially cut the entire water alien storyline, I couldn't believe it. That's the whole point of the movie!
Amazingly, I've never seen Disney's Pocahontas. You see, the Pocahontas legend was one of my very favorite stories when I was growing up. (We even had a German shepherd named Pocahontas.) When the movie came out, I was afraid that Disney was going to screw up the story, make her marry John Smith at the end or something. But I've recently thought maybe I should see it.
You'd be better off spending the time it would take you to watch Pocahontas traveling down to visit Pocahontas State Park. Ze movie... it is not good. Not even in an amusing Disney way.
