Boone Hall's main is a beautiful structure, but did you know the house pictured here was actually built between 1933 and 1935? Having worked in the Charleston Area, I know that's not a fact the guides draw much attention to on the tours.

Also, this blog is missing one of the oldest preserved plantation houses in America that's still open to the public! Drayton Hall, built in 1738 and also in Charleston, is an amazing place. I was there quite often when I lived in Charleston. Look into it. She's one of my favorites.
