I have read the book and seen this movie (though I regrettably have not seen other versions) and while it is true that it is by no means an accurate rendition, I still highly enjoy the movie and CoMC is one of my all time favorite books. The one thing I would have altered was the exclusion of Haydée, as she is one of my favorite characters. I will say though, making Albert Edmonds son is such a natural plot twist that I am amazed Dummas did not think of it himself.
