"We did it," he said and held out his arms. Both ladies welcomed his embrace.

I love that part. That was so unbelievably sweet. This was a chapter deeply showing relationships, and I love that aspect.

I'm glad Martha regrets her harsh and untrue words to Tess and I'm so glad Lois is trying to be the mediator between them, working to get the two women in her life to come to an understanding.

Love it! Can't wait for more!

It's strange, but if Tess hadn't reacted about Martha coming to town, Lois would have still been in the dark about it. Everyhting will be cleared up shortly.
