Foxcatcher received rave reviews at Cannes

It felt so good to wake up this morning. Foxcatcher received rave reviews at Cannes, and Channing's performance was praised by the critics. I am glad Channing's hard work was rewarded. This movie will become a turning point for his career as an ACTOR. He may not be able to actually win awards, but I hope people in the industry will consider him for ( Read more... )

This is adorable! I always enjoy his mix of shyness and confidence.
And, yes, he does look good!

Thank you for the interviews compilation. Very interesting.

I like the Vulture article!

And I couldn't agree more with your comments!

I'm very happy with how it is unfolding so far!

Channing looks very Marcus Aquila to me :) Altough for now, more people are saying Steve Carell is an Oscar lock (for nomination), there are people who preferred Channing's quiet and low key performance to Carrell's showy. acting. There are still 5-6 months till the Oscar race begins. You never know. Dream big :)

As you wrote in your more recent post, now Sony might campaign for Tatum as well! Nice. A very good week!

I'm aware that this film is not likely to make money, a bit like Mystic River, Million Dollar Baby, Brokeback Mountain. Not feel-good movies to say the least. But prestigious ones, and more than likely to become classics.

Dream big :-)

I found these two reviews. Good to learn the brothers are the heart of the movie.

But the combination that gives the film its heart is the pairing of Tatum and Ruffalo as the brothers; Mark being the bruised and vulnerable bear of a man, with the more sensible Dave acting as his trainer, mentor and, ultimately, saviour.

On first glance, Tatum appears to be doing little but scowl and glower, but the performance is deceptive; his meathead mumbling and lumbering gait belie Mark's crippling vulnerability.

Foxcatcher is not a movie that interests me but I'm glad Channing is getting good reviews. If Jonah Hill can get nominated why not Channing? ;P

Yes, the story is very depressing. If it were not for Channing, I may not want to watch it.
