I have Borgias and GoT recorded for later viewing.

GoT is very strongly tied to the way the books read, so this accounts for the number of characters. And each chapter is POV of a character, so yes, things do move slowly. It is not to everyone's taste.

S2 of The Borgias seems to move faster than S1, I like it this way. After finishing watching S1 of GoT, I've gradually become interested in a few characters I mentioned in my post. But I wouldn't miss the show when my subscription to HBO Canada ends by the end of this month.

It really is not to everyone taste. My boss does not like the books.
