The Borgias - Best Show debuted in April

May 01, 2011 23:20

Back in January, when I first saw trailers of the three new shows - Camelot, GOT, and the Borgias, I felt I will love The Borgias most. After six weeks of The Borgias, five weeks of Camelot and three weeks of GOT, my opinion has not changed. I just cannot warm up with any character from GOT (the plot also moves slowly), however, the Borgias are  ( Read more... )

Same over here... I think it's the best show among the other two.

I quite like the political machinations in GOT but there aren't many likeable characters in it, that's for sure.

I am loving the Borgias! I would have watched anything with Jeremy Irons in it, but the show is pretty good too. Besides, Francois Arnault is HOT. ;)

The Borgias did a lot of bad things, but still I enjoy watching them.

I like Jeremy Irons and Francois Arnault, also Holliday Grainger.

The book GOT is entirely character driven, each chapter is POV of someone-which makes for a slow story. You do start to really like people, though, but that is in the book. The plot moves slowly as a result.

The Merlin/Morgan stories are the best thing about Camelot.

Borgias is the best, agreed. Wonderful acting and the plot keeps moving along-and you like the characters greatly.

Dr.Who turned out to be pretty interesting in its debut...

I guess GOT has great source material, but the creators of the show has not approved themselves with their adaptation. We Chinese have a saying "If you have a small head, don't wear a big hat". I don't think the creators are competent enough to handle such a giant. There are not that many Peter Jackson or Neil Jordan. The cast of GOT is not particularly impressive either, not matter in their performances or the look department.

Speaking of Camelot, as I said before, the cast is unbalanced. Also there is this disconnection between episodes. It is very obvious in episode 105.

I generally don't watch British shows. I watched Merlin for shallow reasons, and it disappointed me spectacularly last year. I don't have much to say about Dr. Who.

I don't know how they thought they would make GOT, either. I do like some of the characters and Sean Bean is very right for Ned. It is not perfect, and I really like the book far better. In the book you start to care about all these people because it is more intimate. But, it has to be the sort of book that you don't mind reading-I had to set it aside and read something with a plot for now and will get back to it.

The Merlin/Morgan story is why I watch Camelot!! Love that.

Sean Bean has the presence, but I think his character is a bit dull, at least in the first three episodes on the show. I found Jeremy Irons's Rodrigo more fun to watch. Rodrigo is just a sly fox, and his character is funny sometimes. There are some witty lines. The scripts are more intelligent.

I saw the pilot okay half the pilot of the Borgias.
And i must admit i find it a little bit boring.
I loved the Tudors but the Borgias... the only reason i started it is David Oakes XD
In other words it doesn't speak to me. Sorry^^

But i love GoT.
You can imagine how much i love it. Take all my LJ entrys about the show and the actors as a hint ;)
I'm currently reading the 3th book and i'm totally lost and in love.^^
There is no character i really hate. I love all of them "good" or "bad" and the most thing i love about GoT nothing is just white and black. There is often a very grey area.

Camelot started really good but in the middle they got a little bit lost.
I don't know if i really love the whole "Lady in the lake" thing.
But there are some epis left so hopefully it gets better ;)
