I am not that optimistic. They talked about it when they webchatted with fans.

Dee says: I saw the rough cut of the Eagle a year ago, and also went to the premiere on Wednesday... what made you change the ending? And way to go guys, you both did a flippin' sick job!

Jamie Bell: Thank you for coming to the premiere! You made it a great night. I prefer the original ending myself, but what can you do?

Channing Tatum: Nice! Thank you. I think we were trying to go for the not-obvious ending and try to do something more symbolic, to not end the movie in a very traditional way, because we as characters rose above the task we started with. But going through all that and not also achieving what we set out to seemed wrong. It's called The Eagle, so you know we're going to deal with that.

Maybe Marcus didn't bring the Eagle back in the alternative ending.

I will buy the unrated version in blu-ray. I think the so-called unrated version is the version shown in UK.
