So, I read a lot of books, but I don't usually feel compelled to tell my flist to go and read them, too. My taste is fairly varied and eclectic, as I'm sure a lot of your reading tastes are. But every so often, I read a book that I think would be adored by a large number of people on my flist, and this is one of them:

This sounds lovely! I'll have to check it out.

The only thing that would have made me love it more is if the author had been brave enough to include Old People Sex in it.

Well, that's what fanfic is for, right? *g*

Well yeah, but I'd really love to see some maturely written, well characterised, explicit (or semi-explicit) Old People Sex in commercially published fiction.

Sure, and I completely agree -- was just trying (clumsily) to be funny...

I have picked up and put down that book several times all ready. It looked good to me, but something else always came up and pushed in front of it. I guess I will have to make the time and actually read it. :D Thanks for the review!

And my local library has it in their collection! Not currently available, it seems to be popular, but I've jotted down the name and I'll keep looking for it. It sounds great. I love English Village Tales, and this one seems especially good.

This looks totally fantastic! I'm not one for romance novels, mostly because imho, most of them don't address a lot of deeper issues/gloss over large obstacles to include more sex.. there's nothing wrong with a bit of smut; it's just that I also want a lot of other things in a story. But this looks complex, with people overcoming real obstacles because there's something about the other person that just makes it worth it.

And I love seeing realistic class/race struggles, because there are distinct differences culturally between different classes/races, and that is a huge component of any relationship with those elements.

Thanks so much for the rec!
