I think I'm just living my life from gig to gig, finding more beauty in lyrics than in my huge poetry book.

Destined for musicianship, dude. You can't fight it. Just like listening to MCR. *bwaha*

Did you ever write poetry? Try your hand at songwriting, hehe. I keep thinking of The Automatic's line But the meaning's not so important, as long as you mean it... I'm not making any progress with NaNoWriMo these days, and I'm wondering whether to force myself into that or to continue my half-arsed attempts at songs. :)

I found a quote the other day when I was looking for links between music and love - no prizes for guessing why - in literature (other than the obvious "If music be the food of love, play on"), which I quite like, without being entirely sure about it. "Music is love in search of a word". I'm half-tempted to invert it though. :P

I never tried writing poetry or lyrics, nope. I suppose because I get very self-conscious about writing that sort of thing. Mind you, I suppose I don't have to actually show anyone. We'll see. I can see what makes a good poem and how poets play with language and manipulate it, and song lyrics don't involve form (beyond lyrics being a form of poetry, if you consider it that way) which is good because form is my least favourite aspect of poetry.
Either way, you should write because you write poetically whether you like it or not. :P

Interesting quote. I can't quite make up my mind about - it feels like it's onto a good idea but hasn't quite formed it properly yet. The relationship between music and love is something I have a feeling about but can't quite sum up yet. It's along those lines though. I'll give it more thought.

It's good to hear that you're happy.

I know that generally goes without saying, but I'm saying it. :P
