It looks like all of the strange gadgets and things have gone away. That's too bad. I really liked the look of some of them! I bet it would have made following some of these signs more interesting if we could use a wind-up hair dryer with giant gears to get the job done, don't you think? And all the outfits were really snazzy too ( Read more... )

You're not? Where should I bring it to, then?

It's [pause]

I don't want just anyone to know. How about you come to the base of the tree? Bring a rope.

Sure thing! I'll be there in two shakes of a lamb's tail.

What the heck is a kweh?

"Kweh" is the sound a chocobo makes!

Really now? Here I thought they were just big chickens.

Of course they're not, silly! They're a lot smarter than chickens are.

I'm sad to see our new outfits go too.

Chocobos make such cute sounds!

They do! When you go into the stables it sounds like a choir sometimes.

Wow I bet that's really pretty to listen to!

[ pause ] What should I call you now?

feathered_earth December 29 2010, 21:37:30 UTC
It is! And pretty funny, too.

You can still call me Krile! I'm only signing it Cara because Lix isn't able to read my name either.

Kweh, huh...?

Wait, can you hear animals' natural sounds? I always thought that you'd hear them as if they were speaking our language.

[Pauuuuuse oh he's really thinking about this now.]

Unless... when you talk to, say, a chocobo... do you just stand there and go kweh?

feathered_earth December 29 2010, 21:39:13 UTC
I hear the sounds they make like you do, but the difference is that I know what they mean.

Yeah. I don't have to, because they understand our language, but it's more polite to talk to them in chocobo.

Is this a fairly common ability to have?

As far as I know, I'm the only one who can talk to animals like this. Does it sound familiar to you?

If the end of this last one's been any indication? It'll probably be tree-y.

[There's some pentapping before he responds to the rest of this.]

...so the kweh thing. That's. Strange, huh?

I guess that's about all we can count on.

Sort of. It's not strange that you can't hear my name, but it is strange that you hear chocobo noises instead.
