Gosh, ages since I read this or indeed any Brazil. I like her books more than most people do. I think she had a holiday home in Cornwall? Explains why she liked writing abiut the west country.

I have a soft spot for Brazil because I still remember how much I loved the first book by her that I came across, but there's no doubt that I have issues with her writing now.

Her having a holiday home nearby explains the strong sense of place in this book.
