So interesting to know your thoughts on reading it for the first time as an adult. I read it as a child (borrowed from the library) and never forgot it, so it's hard to read it critically now. I've since read two of the sequels and think I may prefer The Lark on the Wing, where the girls start an independent life in London.
It makes such a difference - well, usually, anyway - at what age you come to a book. I thought there were sequels, but was too lazy to check. I'd like to read more about a 'woken-up' Kit.
