It's coming!

The 2009 Winter Feast for the Soul begins in just two weeks, on January 15. I'm starting to think about organizing opportunities for local folks to get together and would love hear from you what you would find most useful or interesting: in-person check-ins? workshops where people share techniques? opportunities to do your own practice next to ( Read more... )

Thanks for posting this. Somehow I had it in my head that this was supposed to start in December and that I'd missed it.

Personally, I think I am unlikely to show up for in-person check-ins as I already have a pretty full calendar and plenty of check-in elsewhere.

I love the idea of having other people to do my seated meditation next to; my fidgets seem to fade away much faster in a room full of people meditating.

My interest in workshops would depend heavily on the specific subject. I can teach what I do (probably having to leave out some of the more specifically Feri material) or I can teach Reclaiming practices that others use as daily practice which I use less frequently if people want either of those, but I have no special urge to.

A kick-off event on the 15th seems like a neat idea, but I probably wouldn't actually be able to make it that day.

I'm not sure I'd be up for in-person check-ins, and actually think check-ins here would be great and more consistently encouraging. As for the rest, I'm not even sure what form this particular practice will take, much less whether it'll be a socializable affair.

Kick-off on the 15th would actually be kind of cool. :)

I have no real idea what I would like to see, except that I want to say that I am excited to see what you and others come up with!

I would like some form of accountability, and I would do my damnedest to show up for in-person check-ins. The LJ variety would work too, though. I'm happy to share what I've developed so far, and I'm ready to go on at length about the *hurdles* to developing a daily practice. ;) I also really, really want to know what others are doing and why, and what they'd like to do and why. Group practice would also be cool.

In short, I'm open to whatever you suggest. :)
