So now I have been in Japaqn for a grand total of 1 month! Celebrated by going and seeing the new Harry Potter. Due to the obscenely high cost of english language copies of the new book (4000yen) I haven't read it yet.

Work is going well, I am getting pretty used to teaching, and am even starting to learn the students' names! Most of them are ( Read more... )

My wife and I got accepted into NOVA. We anticipate going over to Japan in October. I am reading all kinds of things on the Internet trashing NOVA. Has NOVA been fair to you?

I'm just a person excited about Japan, but worried about things I've read about NOVA's health as a company.

Sure, that's what they told you to say! You can't fool me!

Seriously, Nova is doing fine, you have nothing to worry about in the immediate future.
I think you will find the conditions pretty comparable to any of the other big schools. They do certainly make it easy for you if you speak no Japanese and no no-one here.

Tell me if they place you anywhere in Tohoku.
