even-a-moment: To be with my lover upon Christmas Day

(Continued from THIS thread)

Ten woke early the next morning. There had only been two couches in the apartment, and they'd decided to switch off every other night. Ryker and Jeff had the couches for now, so Ten and Isa were on the floor, curled up by the rug. Ten had had some initial worries about catching his clothes on fire, and Jeff had mocked ( Read more... )

Isa had wanted to wake up before any of them, so he could heat the hot chocolate he had grabbed when he and Jeff collected leftovers. Not that he could have hot chocolate, but he knew Christmas was special in Ten's country, and he knew how precious childhood memories could be.

However, when he awoke Ten was there with that sparkling tree on the screen. He pushed off the layers of clothes he had used in lieu of blankets and came forward to hug Ten. "Happy Christmas," he murmured in warm, rich tones.

Ten was startled for a moment, since he hadn't been paying attention and Isa had woken up so quietly, but he smiled at Isa and returned the hug eagerly. "Happy Christmas, Isa," he replied quietly, careful not to wake Ryker and Jeff.

"Did you just wake up? We should probably start breakfast. Well, heat up breakfast." They didn't really have anything to cook, after all; most of the food they had were leftovers that Isa and Jeff had gathered the day before.

Isa nodded. He wanted to brush his teeth first, but places such as these tended to have roaring pipes. Besides, he wanted to give Ten his hot chocolate. So they went to the food Jeff and Isa had bundled, and as Ten looked through the food Isa secretly put the small cup into the microwave. Of course, the rich scent made his secrecy moot, and he smiled at Ten.

[OOC: They probably grabbed like...cake and cinnamon bread as well as dinner stuff, so they can have an actually breakfasty breakfast. Except Isa can't have cake, but he doesn't care if his breakfast is breakfasty. *pats him*]

Ten was looking through the food and trying to decide what would be appropriate breakfast food when he smelled something that he never would have thought to expect this Christmas. Hot chocolate. He turned around to see Isa smiling at him. "Where did you get that?" he asked, sweeping Isa into a hug. "That's brilliant, thank you."

So maybe he had been wrong. Maybe it would just be like old times today.
