I don't recognize that one, but you might visit http://www.logan.com/loganberry/stump.html and pose your question and see if they can help you out (or browse some of the answers to questions already asked and see if one looks familiar, I found several books from my childhood I had forgotten the title to when I visited). I put up my Christmas tree today and thought of you. Every year I hang up a Christmas ornament you gave me back in grade school days...it made me smile...

I actually don't set up a Christmas tree at the holidays - my mom does at her house, and since it's just me in my apartment I don't usually bother. Mostly out of sheer laziness. :)

Alas, no. I've read The Root Cellar (and it's a great book!) but the one I'm thinking of is a children's picture book, not a novel. :(
