More kitten!fic! Sorry it's so short...I'm kind of writer's-blocked lately, so I'm sort of posting what I have as I have it as a way to keep myself going.
Lorne's team took the kittens down to the infirmary and placed them gingerly on a free bed while Carson looked on in horror.
"You do know I'm not a vet, Major?" he said, watching as SGA-1 arranged themselves on the bed. Teyla was sitting near the edge, watching them all, her tail curled around her neat little paws. Ronon paced along the edge of the bed, his fur fluffed up along his back, growling softly. Rodney had slunk to the pillow and was trying to crawl underneath it, making disgruntled little noises. John was in the middle of the bed, chasing his own tail.
"I know, Doc," Lorne said. "But they used to be human. Can't you...figure something out?"
Carson shot Elizabeth a pleading look. "I wouldn’t know the first place to start. You're sure this is Colonel Sheppard and his team?" A chorus of mews made them all look at the bed, where all four kittens were now staring at them. Rodney kept meowing, abandoning his quest to get under the pillow to wave his paw at them and deliver a lengthy diatribe. He ended with a final, emphatic, "Maow!" and lifted his chin.
Elizabeth looked at Carson and raised an eyebrow.
"Right. Colonel Sheppard's team it is. I'll have Biro test their DNA, make sure they're healthy aside from the, the...," Carson waved his hand, at a loss for words, apparently. "I suppose we have to assume they were affected by something on that planet and this is the result."
"I'll have Doctor Zelenka assemble a team and go have another look," Elizabeth said. "We'll have to warn them to be careful. We can't have the entire expedition turning into kittens."
"What do we do with them in the meantime?" Lorne asked. "We can't just let them wander around like this. And begging your pardon, ma'am, I'm more of a dog person. I don't know much about cats."
"So am I," Elizabeth admitted. "I'm sure there must be someone in the biology department who'll know how to care for kittens. It can't be that hard, after all."
To third part I should mention that all offerings of kitten pics as bribery or encouragement are welcome! There can never be too much kitteny cuteness.
