Another day, another dollar, another rejection letter from a job I'd wanted rather badly. Ah, the joys of Bush 43-era job hunting. For those keeping track, the main joy of Bush 43 era job hunting is being able to blame Bush 43 for one's inability to get a job (instead of recognizing one's own personal and professional failings, which is far less ( Read more... )

Well, I'm sorry to hear about the job rejection, though I agree that it should be entirely blamed on Bush 43. And I'm quite glad you enjoyed Troy! I'm still not sure I'm going to see it in theatres -- I think I need to wait for the dvd so I can yell at the screen in the privacy of my own home. Classicist rage, dude. It's like road rage, only waaaaay more dorky.

Hee! This comment made me laugh at odd moments all day yesterday.

Troy will most definitely be a great rental, because of the eye candy, and the talk-back-to-screen possibilities are endless! Also, you'll have extra ammo, knowing the story so well.

Thanks for the job rejection sympathy -- meant to say that in my other comment, but any mention of Troy seems to derail my thought process entirely. This may have something to do with the fact that any mention of Troy immediately brings to mind either (a) the Brad Pitt bathing-after-battle scene or (b) the Hector in any of his many open-shirted ensembles and, well. I'm only human!

feh on the job rejection fools, they know not what they are missing when they don't hire you.

sing hey! for the low slung sarongs. And I agree--this film doesn't do anywhere near the violence to Homer that Demi's Scarlett Letter: aka Puritan Babe With Manicure does to Hawthorne.

Aw, thanks. Someday I will find the right workplace for my super covert slacking and poor phone etiquette skillz. :)

And I do sing hey! for the low-slung sarongs. Your re-titling of the Demi version of The Scarlet Letter is hysterical, also.

Yes, it will come! That sounds rather ominous, actually. :)

And I very much recommend Troy, I think you'll enjoy it.
