BLAH BLAH BLAH.

Everything we do is based on agreements we have made. In these agreements we tell ourselves who we are, what everyone else is, how to act, what is possible, and what is impossible. What we have agreed to believe creates what we experience. When these agreements come from fear, blocks and obstacles develop keeping us from realizing ( Read more... )

Thanks for the reminder. I can honestly say I've been good about the first 3 and it's gone a long way towards keeping me happy. I also need to work on #4. Been kinda lazy recently.

Don't make rules. Also, don't make the rule that you should not make rules.

You and cuddlycommando are, and I mean this without irony, my favorite philosophers I personally know. You are really trying to get to the heart of things while still rampaging through your lives. When I was younger, I read all sorts of novels about sensitive put-upon young men searching for themselves, which never got me anywhere. Your guys' postings are more rewarding and fun. I'm hoping for a video-recording of that trip to Spain that's a combination of your musings, and general carnage.

Aw. That means alot, coming from you, mister.
Spookie and I have similar views on things (though I think she's a tad bit stronger than me), and we most certainly are going to do some crazy up-fucking in Spain.
Bravo on the post, Jess. It's weird how hard it is sometimes to live with a clear heart.

It is quite kind of you Oliver. =] Though, I have to say these are not "rules" and things like this are infinitely hard to keep in mind at all times. The book says they're agreements, but they're a really great way to find a "zen" head space in the midst of turmoil.

I think the nature of humanity means we can very seldom have a clear heart. The weather is always changing.

Spain better prep for us and we should find ourselves a video camera.

Are we really sure we wanna catch these moments on tape? Because I'm certainly planning on doing things that would frighten small children.
