Every time I meet a racist, I want to do something harmful to them. And then I thank whatever god there might be that I'm the one being discriminated against, and not the ignorant person doing the discriminating.
Is racism worth ending a friendship over? Because I just can't take it.

There is no excuse for intolerance and until someone stands up, this person will continue to get away with it.
People suck.

I can't give you any advice because I'm struggling with the 'same' thing.

i guess, being homophobic COULD be a religious issue. it could also be a personal issue- some people just aren't comfortable grinding with someone of the same gender. like, they could feel threatened by it.
but no one is being threatened by anyone of another race. not in the united states, and not in the same way as homophobia.
it's really the same thing. my brain is muddy.

Like, but if I were gay and you were not (we're speaking hypothetically of course because you are of course gay), I wouldn't come up to you and start grinding on you. Therefore, you should not feel threatened by my gayness.

if it bothers you that much maybe you can try and cut back, ignore it, or remove yourself from the conversations as nicely as possible
but I wouldn't make it into a large fight, or anything
although, I don't really see that happening, either

tru dat.
the way i see it, i have three options:
1) ignore it, which i can't and won't
2) try to change my friend's mind- unlikely
3) do my best to rid myself of her in a gentle way, although i'd rather make a scene and tell her how horrid and wrong she is

igitur, 3a [no scene], please
igitur is my new replacement for ergo, since everyone's attached themselves to it

You should be happy that people are expanding their vocabulary, not rolling your eyes at it.
