[Private to Kirk]

Well, Captain, I certainly hope it was worth the trouble.

May I suggest a formal apology to your fellow wardens before they have you hanged?

[Private to the Admiral]If you are back in command, would you please update me on the status of my inmate? I've received no responses from her, and - before this whole fiasco began - was ( Read more... )

Why shouldn't I apologize to the Inmates too? They live on this boat as well the last time I checked.

Or are Wardens the only people that matter?

If you feel they deserve an apology from you, then by all means, I encourage you to do so.

However, I'll remind you that the inmates aren't capable of demoting you to one of their own. My advice is for your own sake, not for the sake of our colleagues.

Doctor McCoy says there's nothing we can do to you that will cause you to regret your actions. However, if it's decided to just ignore this, what does that say to anyone else planning a mutiny? Only inmates have repercussions?

Let me ask you, how do you think this should be handled?

Are you really capable of demoting me? No offense, Captain but you are not the boss of me and as several people kept pointing out me, we all signed on with the Admiral. If he wants me demoted then I'll listen but a group of Wardens who plotted mutiny against my mutiny, making the whole lot of them hypocrites? No, not so much.

And further more, demoting me could encourage the Inmates to just do whatever they want because they don't have any lower to go.

Honestly, nothing went wrong. We landed safely. No one died or was hurt because of our actions. We didn't abuse the powers at our disposal, though we very well could have. And I think if you're discussing demotion purely to make an example of me? Then I can't even pretend to respect you. You want to string me up to prove a point to everyone that you have absolute power? Then the Inmates were right about you.

Nothing went wrong? You can't be serious, Captain. People died. A volcano erupted, sending us running for our lives. Our stint in that port was due to your actions.

I want you to understand two things, very clearly:

First, I am in no way in favor of demoting you. I feel it would be counter-productive. It was my recommendation to give you the standard Federation slap on the wrist and have you assigned to sanitation duty. It would be a waste of our time to have you confined to the brig, much less demoted to inmate.

However, I don't speak for the other wardens.

Second, the Admiral gave to the wardens the authority to execute punishments for behavior exactly like this. Yes, they are capable of demoting you, and don't think for one minute that you or the others are safe from some form of punishment if the Admiral fails to act ( ... )
