Southwest doesn't have any S80's. The issue seems to have been that when they got fined $10M for failing to do an inspection on their 737s (or at least failing to do the paperwork covering the inspection), AA realized that they had had a different sort of inspection that may have been incorrectly documented, so they needed to redo the things to get the paperwork right.
As to AA's BC: yeah, it makes a bit of a mockery of United's loud bragging about having the first lie-flat BC seats in the US. I first flew that config back in September.
But seriously cooler is the cabin in front of that one, which has seats that rotate so you can face your neighbour while dining, and then which will turn into a flat *and* horizontal bed... AA's FC (and BA's, QF's, JL's and CX's is nifty!).
As I said to K, if there is ever a next SJC time grab the local spare room. Ditto if you need rescuing from said airport! Reminds me to send those contact details.
