I have a lot of friends who swear by Wikipedia...I've never used it.
And since you are a big computer buff, I am definitely going to try it out now :)
Hope all is well!
And Happy Holidays!

Wikipedia is an awesome resource for information. For example, let’s say that you want to learn something about the history of Microsoft. Go to Wikipedia, search for “Microsoft”-which will take you to the Microsoft article. It is detailed, and there are links to other articles where applicable. Of course, that means that in 20 minutes time you can be at a totally different article that has absolutely no relation to what you were looking up in the first place, but that’s alright-because that means you’re learning!

I guess I should be doing that, but the first thing my professor say to me in all of my class is "do not use wikipedia as a reference" so I forget that I should use it as an entry point!

Yeah, someday, teachers will get two brain cells to rub together and realize that Wikipedia, though lacking in some areas, is far better than anything that a traditional encyclopedia has at this point. It is only natural that it will be that way; there are no restrictions on article size like there are with encyclopedias that print in paper.
