In all seriousness though, I think her appearance is just a sign that anyone running for public office has to acknowledge the power of new media. The most favorite news topic on CNN nowadays is how more young Americans get their news from comedians like Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart, and maybe this was a last-ditch attempt to court their core audience. Who knows. I do admit, though, that I gained a grudging respect for her willingness to be skewered. As disdainful of mainstream media she is, she seemed still able to not take herself too seriously.
