Momiji is one of my favourites too. I love just how playful he can be, yet at the same time he is incredibly mature for his age. More so than the others i would say. I love how he understands the others very well and how he was willing to go against Akito to protect Tohru, knowing that he would get punished for it. How he is willing to sacrfice his own feelings and happiness once again (the first time being with his mother) in order to see Tohru happy, which is why he keeps pestering Kyo and saying things to make him realise how she feels about him. I got so upset when his curse was broken, i just felt for him so much, he couldn't go back to his family, he can't have Tohru, whom he loves. and to top it all off he's lost the one thing that connected him to everyone else.
Yeah, i guess you could say Momiji is one of my favourites. Hehe
I did know that you were rather crazy about Kyou, but I forgot. Old age. -_-;;
I didn't, however, know that you liked Momiji so much. How can anyone not love him? I really like your explanations - I think that we're similar in that we get so involved with the characters and think about them and their motives so deeply, and also feel for them in the way that we do. *^^*
Beautifully done! I love this softer side of Akito as she moves on in her life, despite her insecurities. I especially love how she kept little bits and pieces of her life carefully hidden away from "prying eyes."
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it. *^^* I try to understand Akito's thought processes, and so this was interesting to write. I do love Akito for many reasons; I also hate the hurtful things that she did, and would never try to ignore or make light of them; but I think in the end, she was a sympathetic character.
*nods* I like to do the same when I'm writing as I find you get a better story that way when you know what's going on in the character's head and why they do the thinsg they do.
*nods* I liek her too; I think she's a great character & misunderstood becasue of her cruelty, whcih I see as lil kid having a temper tantrum, becasue the adults defered to her too much. It's got to be rough to be that uyooung with that much power over people. Exactly And I woudl hate it if people turned her into a b*tch because of it or made her into the sterotypical bad guy, you know?
I do think that Akito at some point had to take responsibility for her own actions, which by the end she was starting to do, but I absolutely agree that some older person should have put some constraints on her behavior when she was a child, and perhaps she wouldn't have turned out as badly as she did. I suppose most of the problem was that she was the head of the family and the God, but still, when she was a child, someone could have said, "We do NOT keep people (Yuki) as pets; and we do NOT lock them up and treat them badly. This is not acceptable and it's not allowed!"
I think one of the things that I love about Akito the most is that once you know her whole story, she's anything but a stereotypical villain.
I liked this a lot. ^_^ That must have been quite the moment for her, and this was a good look into her head. I especially liked the old maid coming and making her just that bit more presentable, and Akito wishing that Ayame were the one taking care of things. I always think Ayame and Akito's relationship must be interesting, but there isn't enough material in the manga for me to have a clear impression of it.
Thank you so much. I'm not exactly fond of the old maid, but somehow, I find her interesting to write. I think you described her very well as an unpleasant person, but not a demon.
It frustrates me to no end that we never ever got a scene between Akito and Ayame in the manga! However, I suppose that leaves more open to speculation when ficcing. *^^*
You paint the maid more sympathetically than she is portrayed in the manga. In the end Akito simply tells her to stay on if she wants to.
Your characterization of Akito was perfect. The insecurity about the future. I liked the camelia which she kept from Shigure which was reflected in the camelia in her hair and the furisode. She wore the camelia in her hair for Shigure. and they both understood the camelias on the furisode. It represents a memory from the past and her hope for the future.
Thank you for your kind comments! I really appreciate feedback. ^_^

I've noticed that I tend to do that, and I don't really know why, because I've never really liked the maid; in fact, I've wanted to smack her several times over. I think that I have a bit of sympathy for her because, for all intents and purposes, she served as the only mother-figure that Akito had, and I think she must have loved Akito in her way; and I think that Akito cared for her as well.

Is there any other couple or character in Furuba that you're as fond of as you are of Akito and Shigure?
