SUMMARY : Akanishi Jin is a famous Solo artist working under JE while Yamapi and Ryo who formed a duet group called Amigo is his best friends. Jin is very closed with his regular dancers Ken, Ueda, Maru, Koki and Junno. In one of the rehearsal, Ken injured himself and was instructed for a month rest. Now Jin need to find an immediate replacement and trained him for his concert scheduled in 2 weeks. Unexpectedly, a Julliard graduated student came for the audition and impress everyone...
A/N: I always knew my first AU fic will be on Akame. But I thought it will be a high school/college theme since I've always fancy those kind of set-up. Well, I guess there's always room later. BTW, will post my He's Mine fic later.
Jin parked his yellow Fiat Coupe next to Yamapi’s red Miata. Johnny has assigned the parking spaces for all the Idols according their seniority. Jin’s has always been between Yamapi and Ryo. He has no issue with the arrangement except for the fact that Ryo changes his car way too often which could be intimidating sometimes while Yamapi changes his partner as much as Ryo changes his car.
Jin has no issue with Yamapi promiscuous nature but the sight of him making out in the car could be revolting sometimes. Exactly like this particular moment. Jin thought of walking away from the scene as fast as he could but Yamapi who noticed his presence lowered down his window and called him in between the kisses and groping “Hey wait. I’ll be finished in few more minutes”
Jin rolled his eyes and walked towards the elevator ignoring Yamapi instruction. He’s not interested to hear Yamapi bragging over his latest conquest, which hardly can be called a prize. The elevator door opened with a thud and Jin hurriedly entered.
But unfortunately Yamapi managed to finish off his frolicking session in time and halted the door “Hey I told you to wait for me.” He stepped in without any hint of embarrassment over his earlier act, not that Jin expecting any from Yamapi. “She’s the new marketing exec. Just joined in 3 days ago” Yamapi offered.
Jin simply nodded to Yamapi rants about how he pursued her and how great she was in bed. Jin knows the drill to well to bother with his best friend. The door opened indicated they had reached the lobby. Both stepped out and saw Ryo, who was waiting impatiently tapping his foot while leaning at the reception counter. Jin chuckled at the sight of the two receptionists, fidgeting at the presence of annoyed Ryo.
“What took you so long? Did those fats finally slowed you down?” Ryo hissed at Yamapi.
Yamapi pouted at Ryo bitter remarks but he knew better than to argue with him, especially since it was his fault “Ryo, I was just helping out a lost kitten. She looked so helpless” He gave out his puppy eyes which earned him another deathly glared from Ryo.
Jin has been with Ryo and Yamapi since their junior years and perfectly knew their banter and bickering are just the way they bond. Due to their so call dynamic relationship, Johnny-san had assigned them as a duet called Amigo which Jin felt it is such a weird name for a Japanese boy band. The three are very close but secretly Jin thanking Johnny for making him a Solo artist rather than a trio with the two. Or they might just end up being named The Three Musketeer.
After few more tongue wagging between the two, they then proceed to the other elevator that will take them to their floor. “So I heard you lost a dancer few days ago?” Ryo raised his eyebrow and questioned Jin while waiting for the elevator.
Jin sighed and nodded. They entered the empty elevator and Jin explained further “Not any dancer. Ken was the best among all. The concert is scheduled in 2 weeks time. I’m not sure we can get someone good enough to be trained for it” a hint of despair clearly heard from his whined.
“Why the long face my love? I can always dance for you” Yamapi offered cheerfully.
“Yamapi, hips moving is not a dance routine” Ryo snickered. Yamapi glared at Ryo which he ignored and continue “So, when is the audition?”
“Today, during lunch period. Want to join and check the new blood?” Jin smile.
“Definitely!” both Ryo and Yamapi exclaimed in unison which end up with the three of them laughed at their own excitement. They have always enjoyed watching auditions since it actually brought back fond memories of their own experience. Well, for Yamapi and Jin it is, while Ryo just simply enjoyed seeing other people suffered from the anxiety of audition.
Then Yamapi bouncily announced “Hey, let me read out your horoscope for today.”
Jin shook his head “You know I don’t believe in that superstitious mumbo-jumbo”
“Don’t worry Jin, it couldn’t lessen your already limited masculinity” Ryo teased.
“Why Ryo, I never knew you’re such a believer?” Jin fired back.
Ryo smirked at Jin weak replied “I’m not, but since Yamapi will simply do as he pleases, might as well get a piece out of the action.” Which was exactly as predicted as Yamapi had already opened up his blackberry and scrolling down looking for the site.
As they stepped out onto the 11th floor, Yamapi excitedly read out Jin’s horoscope “Wow, you should hear this ‘You’ll meet someone that will change your life forever. That person will be so shiny you could not take off your eyes away. Your own battle in darkness will be shied away by this person’”
A loud laughter escaped from Jin “Yeah right! Battle of darkness my ass”
“Maybe it means there will be someone great in the audition.” Yamapi exclaimed excitedly. “Ohh, listen to mine ‘Your heart finally settle at the sight of a beautiful creature so rare, you’ll fight all you got for a chance to be love. You might lose but that will not stop you from trying your best’”
Ryo shook his head at his partner antic and pulled Yamapi into their room “Come on Madam Fortune Teller. We have practice scheduled. See you at the audition Jin.” Ryo spoke and left Jin alone in the hallway.
A smile formed on his lips. Even though the two could be pretty insane sometimes, Jin loves them just as much. He walked further down the hallway heading to his room where he shared with his main dancers, Koki, Ueda, Maru and Junno. Ken used to be the part of the family, unfortunately he broke his leg during their practice last weekend and been instructed for a month long rest or till further notice from the doctor. He was devastated with the thought of being replaced but nothing much can be done in his condition.
Jin's reached his room and noticed the room was rowdy as always, just the way he likes it. Back when he debuted, Johnny had offered him a choice, whether to share his room with Amigo or he can have a room by himself. Instead, he chooses to share the room with his dancers. His permanent most trusted dancers that is, and he never regretted his decision once.
He had always been a strong opionated person who normally does things on his own. Furthermore, he could be very stubborn and self-righteous sometimes which lead him to decide that solo would be his best option. But being a people-person as he is, he enjoyed being surrounded by a crowd and he finds people amuses him.
As he pushed the heavy door with the 'Akanishi Jin' trademark name displayed proudly, he heard Koki exclaimed excitedly to his peers "Then when I said we will be having the audition today, he starts to weep uncontrollably. I tried to comfort him but he ended wailing further till the nurses rushed in. I end up being chased away"
Jin stepped in and all of them stop their conversation to greet him "So what happened next?" he prodded as he joined the group.
"He continued to wail and said he will haunt the new guy" Koki continued his tale which lead everyone laughing hysterically. "It was as if he's going to die and his soul will not be at peace till he completed the part"
Then suddenly Jin turned serious and looked at each of them "Ken is great and I doubt we can find anyone as good as him. I do feel bad that I need to replace him this soon. But the truth is, it is not soon enough" Jin spoke in a hint of anguish.
"Hey, not to worry Jin, we understand the situation. Ken knew it as well, it just a bit hard to swallow. You know how dramatic he always been." Maru added helpfully.
Jin looked around at each of his most trusted dancers and smile gratefully "Thanks guys. Really appreciate your support." The he continued "So, have you guys check the audition list? Anyone familiar?"
All four nodded "Of course, since there’s only a few renowned dance academies in Japan. But it would be best for you and the panels to judge them yourself." Ueda added with a mysterious smirk.
Jin was definitely curious, but before he could ask further Koki interrupted “But there is one particular name that all of us were shocked to see in the list”
“He was our junior back then, but he was so good he was offered to study abroad after the 1st semester. He was a genius, a child prodigy” Maru explained. “I guess he had graduated from Julliard already. Wonder why he’s back?”
“Why not?” Jin asked curiously.
“Well, once you get the feel of international recognition, it’s really rare for you to come back. Unreasonable actually” Koki offered some insight. “And if Ken knew this particular guy is auditioning, not only he will cry his heart out, he’ll be volunteering to find a new job”
“Maybe he lost his mojo and thought coming back to his root may help” Junno tried his best to join in the heated conversation.
“Who knows? But one thing for sure, if he’s as good and beautiful as he used to be, we bet you can’t take your eyes off him” Ueda added knowingly.
That was the second time the term being used and Jin was slightly wary now.
“So, how much are we betting?” Junno asked innocently.

Jin was sitting in the middle of the panel judges for the audition. The panel was his manager, concert producer, choreographer and image consultant. Jin turned back and saw Ryo and Yamapi at the far right side of the hall while his dancers were sitting not too far from the panels. After their earlier conversation, Jin has taken the liberty and checked the entire audition list. There are a few dancers with abroad experiences as written in their profile, but there was only one graduated from Julliard. Unfortunately, there was no recent photo attached and he was the last candidate.
The audition goes on pretty well and there were a few good dancers spotted. But Jin still has his doubt whether the new dancer can be trained and ready before the concert.
Then the moment all of them had been waiting for, the last candidate stepped out from behind the curtain and walked gracefully towards the panel. He got amazing air of confidence and flamboyant that make Jin feels as if the time had stood still. Jin was having a hard time to remain calm as he felt so jumpy inside.
“Hi! I’m Kamenashi Kazuya” the slender looking guy announced with a bright smile.
“So, you’ve graduated from Julliard few months back. Any reason you are here now?” his choreographer sounded a bit skeptical and critical at the same time.
But the guy just smile sweetly, clearly already anticipated the question “I’ve always wanted to come back and contribute whatever I have learnt back to my country once I graduated. And that notion never change even after I’ve performed few time abroad”
Jin could sense that was not the real reason but he nodded in approval. “So what will your performance be?”
“A modern lyrical dance” Kamenashi answered confidently.
Then he moved to the centre stage and to position himself. He gave the cue to music and once the rhythm sync he started dancing. His moves were so graceful and breathtaking beautiful. It was such a dynamic and amazing performance, Jin felt like he was holding his breath throughout the dance. He simply could not take his eyes away from Kamenashi.
When the music and dance stopped, he almost stood up to give the guy a standing ovation. He looked at his choreographer who was clasping his mouth in awe, clearly out of words. He turned around and saw all his dancers showed him their thumbs up. He smiled and feeling grateful he didn’t make any bets just now.

At the far back of the hall, Yamapi and Ryo were stunned by the performance. Both of them sit in silence after the emotional performance. Then Yamapi was the first to speak “I can’t breathe”
“Eh, I only do CPR for girls” Ryo exclaimed.
“Ryo, he’s the one” Yamapi announced as if in trance.
Ryo looked at Yamapi as if his friend was talking in a foreign language “Huh?!”
Yamapi turned to face Ryo “He’s the one mention in my horoscope. I’m in love”
