Chapter List Chapter 9. Unwanted Visitor
“Come one just one more dress. Pleeeaassse!” Taecyeon was holding a dress and a pair of heels in his hands. He had already made Asuka try on about ten different outfits and he still wasn’t done. He seemed to be having more fun than she was. He took a picture every outfit she came out in; one with him and one solo.
“No more Taec, man you’re worse than a girl that is helping her friend pick out a ball dress,” she rolled her eyes as she tried to stop Taecyeon from pushing her into the changing room.
“Oh come on, Suka. You owe me you know, making me try all those outfits before so it’s my turn,” he waggled his eyebrows and gave her that toothy grin.
“Yeah but I didn’t torture you this much. You choose all those outfits that only Ok Taecyeon would pick. I mean really that yellow top with those orange shorts. I don’t wanna be known as ‘Ok Taecyeon’s traffic light’ prodigy.”
This seemed to make Taecyeon snap.
“Hey Asuka Lee, that traffic light fashion can only pulled off by who I think can pull it off. Besides, you know I can just leave you here and go. If it wasn’t for me you’d be…”
Asuka sighed and shoved the clothes she had tried on towards Taecyeon and took the dress and shoes he was holding before he could get any louder. The whole store was watching by now.
“Everyone’s watching Taec,” she said as she entered the changing room.
Taecyeon looked around to find everyone staring and he bowed and apologised for the noise he made. He was lucky not to have any screaming fan girls in the boutique shop he was in.
“Well it worked didn’t it? You’re trying the dress on,” he whispered to her. He heard her mutter a “yeah. whatever” and he sat down on his chair satisfied and smiling to himself. He did have to admit to himself that some of the outfits he made her try were, well what a fashion-terrorist would wear but he knew she was enjoying this as much as he was, although he would never admit it to her.
The dress he picked for her had caught his eye the first minute they walked into the store and he thought it would look amazing on Asuka but he had second guessed himself having the great fashion sense he had. He would pass by it every time he went to find another outfit for Asuka and he finally decided to grab it off the rack.
“Taecyeon-oppa?”
A voice interrupted his thoughts. Was Asuka done already? But she never called him ‘oppa’. In fact, she hated that term. She didn’t like the way it sounded, especially coming from her mouth. He had asked her if she would ever call a guy ‘oppa’ and she had said only someone who was special to her but that it didn’t really matter since she wasn’t Korean in the first place. He turned around to see a female standing a few metres from him.
“Hello Yoona-ssi,” He bowed to the girl. Yoona only ever called Taecyeon ‘oppa’ on television.
“What are you doing here, in a female boutique shop?” Yoona asked him.
He had worked with her in Family Outing 2 and their endorsement for Cabi and they also had a special stage at the end of last year. They had always been paired up with each other, he didn’t mind it, it was for the fans after all, until it got overused and he got tired of it. Honestly he didn’t really like her. She tended to be clingy when they were filming and even after the cameras were off. He also never really liked the way Yoona had called him ‘oppa’.
What was he supposed to tell her why he was here? He couldn’t really tell her the truth could he? More like he didn’t want her to know about his personal connections, especially when his personal connections involved his group members.
“Umm, my friend from overseas is here on holiday so I’m taking her around today,” that would do. It wasn’t a lie; it was just a vague explanation.
“Ah. I didn’t know you had a girlfriend. I thought we told each other about everything. You were supposed to call me. You said we’d keep in contact even after Family Outing 2. So where is she?” Her tone had sounded harsh. As though she didn’t expect him to have a girlfriend. It wasn’t as though she was waiting for him to ask her out or anything but she thought that they had something. They were paired up a lot and even though the events in Family Outing 2 had been scripted it still felt real enough.
“Well my personal life is none of your business Yoona-ssi. And I didn’t say anything about keeping in touch. You should know how busy I am these days, besides I haven’t seen my friend in a year and this is the first I’ve seen her in forever. I had a free day today so I planned to take her all around town.”
Since when did they tell each other everything. Shouldn’t she know that he would be too busy with concert preparations to call her, not that he was going to. He wasn’t a bad guy, like the ones that don’t call back but he was just tired of all the rumours that they were dating and whatnot. Yeah he did like her, she was his in Girl’s Generation, but that was it.
Girlfriend. He didn’t say anything about a girlfriend. Then why was his heart racing when she labelled Asuka as his girlfriend? He couldn’t tell her she was in the changing rooms could he?
“And when did I say she was my girlfriend--”
“Oppa, what’s wrong?” a voice behind him spoke.
