Fic- The Thrill in the chase

Another product of my writers block. Whenever I'm stuck I put my ipod on random and have to write a story that is based on the first song that plays. The First song that came on was an Australian Country song called "Don't Chase me." by Shea Fisher. It's a ridiculously girly song which starts off with a Cheerleaders medley which immediately made ( Read more... )

Oh my goodness...
That was pure gold. I can't decide to smile or laugh, so I'm doing both. You just know that nothing would throw Sylar for a loop more than someone accepting him. Poor boy just wasn't ready, was he?
I can't believe this is writer's block, Fayth. Wow. Very cute.

Oh, hee! I needed something cracky to cheer me up, and this delivered in spades. I can just see the dawning 'wtfomgwhut?' expression, as the smugness morphs into utter bewildered panic.

"...[S]orry, honey, but we already have a relationship. It's warped and twisted but there it is.”

You tell him, Claire!

I love this reversal of roles, which somehow reminds me of my first pet cat. 'Puss-puss' was a New York City alley kitten, and though he never grew to be very big (early malnutrition kind of stunted his growth), he was all coiled muscle and attitude. When we moved to a small town where all the neighbors had big dogs, I remember the shock and bemusement on the dogs' faces the first time each of them tried to chase my cat for fun, and found that he was instead chasing them, and was quite willing to hurry them out of our yard with a claw swipe to their hind quarters.

Somehow, I picture Sylaire through much of this delightful fic wearing that "WTF?" kind of face that I always associate with a Labrador Retriever who finds himself being chased by a small cat.
