This is all such BS. Like others have said, suspicious how they constantly manage to avoid giving any real answers. First they're banning folks for child porn, then when it's pointed out that the way the characters are drawn looks mighty adult, then it's all about standards and porn and all that. It's all bullshit.

I'm just furious because my other account (I created this one just for fandom stuff) is a permanent one and I hate to think I gave these assholes well over 100 bucks.

They just get suckier and suckier. And I think you're right about HP fandom--it's large, and the books are well-known, so it's more visible. I'm wondering if they'll target things like the CLAMP-fandom next--we're not as large and not as well known, but Clamp has canon, well-loved gay characters all over the place. (Oh noes, LJ! Gay porn!)

On the other hand, I do think it's specifically HP fandom. Makes me want to write porny post-DH Harry/Ron/Hermione just to spite them. I don't think they're going to target a whole lot of other fandoms, as many other fandoms are simply too far off the public radar. How many people have heard of something like Tokyo Babylon? Other fandoms may be based in kids' books as well, or TV shows and whatnot, but few have the fandom HP has.

I really wish they'd just spell it out, as well. All the back-and-forth is making me annoyed.

Probably. However! Squeaky on IJ has said he'll choose the users over Google ads if it comes down to it and he raised the friending limit to 250...and he'll try to raise it to match the other LJ clones. Link and Link.

People just want to take their anger out on a really popular fandom which doesn't surprise me at all. Though I've seen people whine about the Yu-Gi-Oh smut that goes around and they say crap about what was done.

Dude they need to get a life and stop picking on stuff that we find that is good. Sooner or later everything is going to fall apart then what? Start a new one only to have the same thing happen again? Hell I wouldn't give anything in the world to keep this going, since I am a avid HP fan like many others and I do like my smut. Hell I have Dojins of HP and I'm not afraid to flaunt it out too.
