Title: Split Second Decisions
Disclaimer: I do not own Primeval.
A/N: For
primeval100 and the prompt shoot to kill . It looks like I’m back to angsting over 2.07, this time canon based (sorry
kristen_mara! I'll try to make next week happier!). Also, thanks to
sendintheklowns for giving this a look-see. Not my favorite drabble, but hopefully it's okay.
Summary: When a predator charges, taking aim for the head is an essential split second decision that makes the difference between walking away intact and not walking away at all.

It’s Stephen’s nature to shoot to kill. When a predator charges, taking aim for the head is an essential split second decision that makes the difference between walking away intact and not walking away at all.
Cutter wants restraint, though. He’s worried about the creatures; worried about the timeline. He has reasons, ones Stephen understands, but someday they’re going to have to pick their priorities.
In the end, when the predators surround him, Stephen’s armed but doesn’t pull his gun. Cutter’s always right, after all, and Stephen closes his eyes and hope the predators aim better than he does.
