Psychometry

I learned a new word today: Psychometry. It is "the alleged art or faculty of divining facts concerning an object or a person associated with it, by contact with or proximity to the object." I used to do it as a party trick. It is remarkably like bobbing for apples, you just get random impressions rather than coherent narratives...

The form of it that Votahk has involves her being able to communicate with the spirits of those objects. Their viewpoint is usually fairly limited, but it's a useful skill.
