Consider homeopathy for a moment. By the laws of homeopathy, diluting the tiniest bit of something in a shitton of water somehow miraculously increases the power of that substance. It's not just dilution. It's also dilution with intentional shaking. You have to shake it just right and think about it working or something like that. I can't remember the exact rationalization.

Not only that, but keep in mind that the cause of a malady diluted cures that malady, according to homeopaths. Therefore, typical drinking water should that has traces of toxins and raw sewage should be about the healthiest thing in the world, curing all sorts of nasty ailments. It certainly explains why I'm not sick all the time... hmmm... there might be something to this after all... :-P

That's an interesting perspective. I'm not a fan of homeopathy myself, but I think there's supposed to be more to it than random dilution.

Yes. Lots and lots of dilution, to the point where not a single molecule of the original substance is left. And shaking it in between dilutions. It's pure nonsense.
