Lilith and Father Abel, I would like to thank both of you for coming to me in my time of need. Your guidance helped me to find my way through the darkness and back to God's light. I've given this great consideration and if you'll have me, I would like to request to transfer to your church.

[He nodded, smiling softly at Saya as he took a seat beside her.]

I think the guilt of my sinful ways had gotten to be too much for my conscience... God showing me the errors of my ways and leading me back into His light.

[He turned his gaze away from Saya, feeling a strange guilt over the thoughts that filled his mind when around her.]

I felt... that He knew of my lustful desires and sought to save me from myself by having me come here. At least that's what I thought...

[There's Saya for you, saying something before she completely thinks it through. A few blinks and raised brows followed it, even if he didn't see her expression.
Her cheeks colored as she looked away herself, brows now lowered as she considered what he had said.]

I'm sorry. What I mean is... did you find the help you needed then?

You must think me a horrible priest to succumb to such feelings.

[It was what he'd been thinking over the last 24 hours...

Turning his body, he faced her once more, determined to follow through with his plans... assuming she would be willing to take such a leap of faith with him.]

I... believe I have. Although it's such a foreign concept to me.

[Reaching out, he took her hand in his.]

Saya... could you look past my being a priest enough to allow me to court you?

[Wait for her brain to catch up here.

She couldn't help but blink down at her hand. Then there came the glance back up, a little mystified.]

[Holding her hand in his, he fought the impulse to do more. After all, she hadn't heard all that he had to say, and considering the nature of his question, he wanted her to make an informed decision.

His voice softened, hoping that she wouldn't be too shocked at what he was suggesting.]

I'm afraid it's all that I can offer if I wish to continue to serve God... but this particular church will allow for discreet relationships for it's clergy.

I discovered that while speaking with two very well respected members of this Faith, and it just seems like the perfect solution to the problem.

[It could have been more shocking really, if she hadn't had a conversation vaguely like this with him before.
She was mostly in a state of blinking, if anything.]

I see...

[She wasn't sure what to say after that. She looked like she wanted to ask a question after a moment but then she appeared to bite it back. Instead she just gave him a bit of a puzzled look.]

But you didn't... I mean...
You've never said a word about anything like that since I arrived in the City. I thought...

[Tilting his head, he reached up with his other hand to brush his fingers along her cheek. She was adorable in her innocence.]

You thought what, my child?

[A normal person might have backed away at the touch. It's just like the last time though - Saya can't seem to find it in herself to pull away just yet.]

That you'd given up. Or... well, moved on.

Ah. Marishka, you mean.

[His features sobered, heart clenching unpleasantly even to say her name so soon after her death. Letting his hand fall from her face, he sighed.]

Marishka... was there for me in my time of need. She comforted me when I thought I'd lost you. And for that kindness, I have no regrets. Even though she was one of Lucifer's children, there was still something redeeming about her and I did love her.

[It was a hard confession to make, but one that was necessary in order to move on.]

But Saya, please believe me, I've never stopped wanting you.

[Saya winced a little at the name, still a touch guilty over her own inability to reconcile with the woman before her departure.
She nodded to that lightly, giving her own sad smile.]

It doesn't really matter what someone is, as long as you care about them. I'm glad the two of you had that. I...
I'm sorry I caused so much trouble before. It... wasn't a good point in time for me. I think.

[There was no need for her to feel guilty, not when she had been going through so much. The fact that she was being so understanding warmed his heart, making him feel certain that there could be love between the two of them.]

We can't possibly know why the Lord gives us the trials that He does.

[Leaning forward he placed a chaste kiss upon her forehead. The hard part was in getting his body to cooperate enough to move away from her. She was so close, her scent so strong in his senses, enticing him to do more.]

Saya glanced up as Solomon moved away. She hadn't expected that. For whatever reason though, it made her smile. Maybe it was the chasteness of it or the obvious affection in it.]

I guess that's true. I'm afraid I don't know a lot about religion though.

Well, I can always teach you. Although, I'm afraid that in converting to this new faith, things will be a little different from what I'm used to.

[Lifting her hand to his lips, he gazed up at her through the longer lengths of his blond hair.]

Does it bother you... that we won't be able to marry?

[She can't help but trail off with his question. It just pokes her blush back into life.]

Marry? I... hadn't really thought of it...

[Saya can safely safe marriages and weddings had never entered her mind before.]
