I feel sorry for poor Winston, who did nothing wrong except get in the way of Mimi's toxic obsession.

It does give the reader the sense that perhaps those childhood 'pranks' were not as lighthearted or harmless as the narrator seemed to think.

I wanted Mama's departure to sort of be the point of no return for at least one of the twins. I'm glad that you noted it.

I feel a little sorry for Winston too. I do wonder though, Gigi was very protective of him, and I wonder if it was due to fear of Mimi's treachery, or her own.

What a great, unexpected ending! This is what can happen when an evil twin is involved. I enjoyed reading this very much.

As I was supposed to be a twin but he or she didn't survive the first trimester. Consequently, I've always envied twins. Until now. No! LOL! But you've given me pause. You really have. :-)

My great grandmother was the last in my family line of twins. I know that despite living fewer than ten miles away from her sibling, they never spoke to each other after age 13.

I hope your pause is not too lengthy. Most of the twins I know are very nice.

Thank you for commenting.

Whoa! I had a feeling of foreboding from the start of this, because those "harmless" pranks were actually pretty cruel. Although I was surprised she went so far with it, I wasn't surprised that she was capable.
