What happens when you have a brush with fame? If you see a star walk down the street, do you applaud them? Ask for an autograph? Heckle them? Act like nothing is out of the ordinary? You’re supposed to act like nothing is out of the ordinary, but most people never do

I didn't get to interview anyone I was already a huge fan of, though. Had Itzhak Perlman come around, I'm sure I would have plotzed. :O

My encounter with him was about fifteen years ago, but he was fairly nice, if not a tiny bit shy.
I've always wondered what Perlman would be like. I've never had the opportunity to see him in concert, and sadly, I don't think he performs as often now. I would have been right there with you though. He's amazing.

squeeeeeeee!!!!! I'll fangirl for you on that one ;)
Honestly, I've always been a bit too shy to do that to people, and also at a certain point they just look exhausted in general, so I stick with the handshake and "thank you." I did, though, get all breathless and nervous when I asked Shannon Wheeler to autograph my program for his Too Much Coffee Man opera, because, well... come on. Which is weird because I'd already met him, as I'd volunteered to pass out and put up fliers for said opera, but he didn't remember me at the showing itself so there we go.
I think maybe more people should get that excited at classical music stuff? The Pox plays cello in a local symphony (symphonietta? I'm sorry, I'm not good with classical stuff actually), and when they put on The Planets with an accompanying planet-related slideshow, my friends and I made a point to squee and gush at the conductor and the astronomy professor who arranged it. Just to encourage them for the future, if not for the fact we were legit excited.
