The G-R Café

Snow flurries swirl outside the window at three o’clock in the afternoon when she bursts in over the threshold of the shop. Her auburn hair is windswept to the left, and her long black coat billows in the same direction. Taking care to close the shop door behind her, the wind resists, giving one last sharp gust, setting her off balance, before ( Read more... )

What is a black forest latte? I'm pretty sure I need one, stat.

Ooh, so a black forest latte consists of: milk of your choice, a double espresso, chocolate, and cherry syrup. Some coffee shops in my home town add whipped cream, chocolate shavings and a cherry. However, as a non milk drinker, the garnishes are unnecessary.

Greetings! As I've been reading Introductions, they've made me think of songs. This piece gave me the sense of you being in a comfortable place but ready to stretch your metaphorical legs and head for a new adventure. This song is about a talented person trying to make art (in this case music) their life. I think its thematically apropos:

Enjoy playing LJI!

I loved how you turned the Green Room into a coffee shop experience, complete with regulars and carmudgeons. Wonder what a cafe flame war would look like? An exploding coffee urn? Dangerously wet floors?

Welcome back!

If I survive to week 10, I might just write a little story. favoritebean December 1 2015, 23:02:11 UTC
Exploding coffee urns would be rather dramatic, and grounds for a good story. (Pun not intended). I always think of flame wars like food fights, just that some of the pieces are laced with sriracha.

I think the scale of the flame wars largely depends on the mood of the cafe manager. I would reckon that some days, he might just sit back with the baristas munching on scones to watch the food fly, and other days, he might flip a little switch. Then *voila* the baristas are serving tequila shots with lemon slices.

When things get to be too much, he might cut the music, close the bar down, and kick everyone out for the day.

The next day, patrons would have to clean up the mess though, and as punishment, we'd only be served cold day old coffee and stale coffee cake.
