Last week, one of my friends commented that I was the busiest retired person he knew. Sounds like you've been very busy! I'm glad that you got to see your favorite musical!

Being able to lead a busy life full of the things of our own choosing is the biggest pleasure of being retired, I reckon!

I am glad that you know that the LJ friend has died. When someone simply stops being here and there is no knowing for sure, just the sense that this would not simply be a whim, it is worse, I think, than knowing they are dead.

I checked his Facebook page (mostly open) when he hadn't posted in about a month and his sister had left the news. And, yes, it's better to know.

There was an Australian lady who simply disappeared from LJ. Emails from a couple of people who had her address went unanswered, and her FB page had simply stopped, too. She was over 80 and I do wonder if no-one in her family ever thought of her having a FaceBook page where they could have put news of her as a comment.

I need to update my will. I think I also want to write a page of instructions about notifying people when I die. (I have no reason to think that anything will happen for many years, but one never knows.)

Before my mom retired, the retired people she interacted with told her they had no idea how they had time for anything while having a job. For a while my mom was the same way, though covid had her settle into a far more sedentary lifestyle. I hope to stay busy in retirement!
