1. Most people in the Buffyverse don’t take Cordelia very seriously. Throughout her time on Buffy, the Scoobies never really saw her as one of them. She was always a bit of an outsider and that silly popular girl.
Exactly. In 3x08, after they got their SAT results everyone seems genuinely surprised that Cordelia get so many points. And this is quite far into the show, when, logically, they should already knew better.

In the scene you choosed she is amazingly complex and shows almost everything I like her for: she still is Cordelia, the School Queen, who knows everything about fashion but she is also so much more. And women solidarity here is <333 (I love that kind of scenes, and this one is special, because it solidarity between enemies ( ... )

"Billy" in general is a fabulous episode for Cordelia, and that scene is just like perfection because you can see how much Cordy has grown and yet she is still completely herself. Such flawless character growth.

ROOOOOSE.

Yeah, I think I'm just going to end up commenting with this sort of thing every day you do this.

I think you have successfully picked up quotes of some of my favourite Rose moments in early s1, though. Even right from the start she gets why this is amazing and realises the Doctor is a mess and is prepared to die if she has to (but not without a fight).

ROSE YOU ARE THE GREATEST.

Rose is so fabulous. I could have gone through all of series one to find every single moment of Rose Awesome, but I loved the idea that right in only her first five episodes we already see precisely why she is so great. I mean, Rose obviously isn't perfect (and I'll be writing a bit about that later this week), but she's pretty goddamn wonderful right from the very start.

Cordelia is my favourite woman in BTVS-verse, I feel that she goes through the most development. The Cordelia at the end is radically different than how she was and it was so awesome to see her take charge and control of her life and what was going on around her.

Sorry for the rambling just, ugh, &hearts Cordelia sfm.

Cordelia has such a flawless character arc. I'm still bitter about the way her character was handled in season 4 of Angel, but in spite of that, she still has this amazing growth from the spoiled rich girl to a woman on a mission.

I feel like s4 would be fine (it is still my fave season after 3) if Cordy had woken up in s5 at the beginning and done her thing she does in YW, maybe restart AI on her own separately, with Spike joining her perhaps to much snipe and banter...at least we did get YW, still cannot believe she wasn't first choice for the 100th epp...*side-eyeing Joss forever*

But yeah, she definitely has one of the best arcs and most interesting development, and I hate it when people claim they just made her like Buffy. Buffy even said she used to be like Cordy, before the burdens of slayerdom was thrust on her, and the visions are so much worse than slayerdom overall, IMO...obviously she's going to change!

Yes! Rose I heart you so hard and these are exactly the reasons I fell for her so quickly. I have often used the exact same early Rose moments to express and explain my love. It's sad that my love needs explaining but that is why we are all here.

I'll have to come back and read the Cat post when I finish the GoTs books. I admit it. I jumped on the bandwagon and I am loving every minute of it.

Cordelia!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY

True, true. As much as I love a lot of the Doctor Who fans on my flist, the fandom is SO WANKY. There is another person doing Rose for this project, and she posted her contribution on tumblr yesterday and Who fandom being Who fandom had a lot of... interesting response. My favorite was when people reblogged her post and then were like "what are are you talking about? everyone loves Rose! She's on such a pedastel in the fandom. P.S. ROSE IS THE WORST" thus completely disproving their point. And of course other people had to turn this into a Rose vs Martha or Rose vs Donna thing. SO NOT THE POINT. I love Martha and Rose oodles too, but Rose is the one I feel the strongest connection to, so she's the one I'm writing about. Other people are appreciating the amazingness that is Martha Jones and Donna Noble. NOT EVERYTHING IS A COMPETITION and my loving Rose does not negate my loving other companions.

I read only half of your Catelyn portion because after the Brienne and Renly spoilers, I decided I didn't want to read any more. I am super excited to read these scenes and I love your explanation of why Catelyn thought the way that she did. I can definitely agree with you that she's not a Mean Girl. Or perhaps she is one but not the way that others imagine.

Some people just really like to latch onto anything that Cat does and criticize her for it, but in context, Cat is in no way being cruel when she observes that it's a sucky thing to be an ugly woman in that society.

Definitely not cruel. More people should hate Cersei. I'm shocked that she gets more love than Catelyn.

Cersei does some really terrible things. I mean, she tries to have Robert's bastards KILLED. But in the end, I can't hate her. I just really pity her.
