I don't know if you got my reply because notifications were being weird yesterday but I watched these last night and I have to agree with you that it's a great 2-parter! I think the creepiest part for me was when the Devil was telling Toby to not turn around. It's a sort of ancient human fear, isn't it? That there's something lurking behind your back. And the concept that you can't turn around is old too- I mean it's there in Greek myths with Orpheus going down to Hades.
Also, this line: I've seen fake gods and bad gods and demi-gods and would-be gods. I've had the whole pantheon. But if I believe in one thing... just one thing... I believe in her! was seriously epic. He pretty much proclaimed Rose to be his own personal god :P Or close enough anyway.

You're totally right, and that adds to the whole mythic feeling to the episode which is why I love it so much.
The whole ensemble cast is brilliant. The Ood are creepy as hell (which I think is why I liked PotO so much - they turned the creepy into genuinely sympathetic and likeable). Rose and the Doctor are adorable and shippy.
I think my favourite bits are Rose's badass leadership skills (I can see that woman taking charge of a team at Torchwood, and doing far better than Jack) and the Doctor's "I believe in her!"
