Question for you.. We have a JIB @ work.. No one seems to have a clue how to use it. What's the trick to those things? (I usually just have to move the thing, sadly, we don't have a floor crew so it never gets used for our local productions other than commercial shoots)
I would like to point out that unlike most people you actually bought one for the purpose of hauling shit.
Yeah, what I was going to say. It doesn't bother me when people who have businesses/do construction, etc has a big SUV. 'Cause you can't cram all that stuff in a station wagon!
Man, I wish I could dump my car (2000 Ford Escort). We replaced the transmission this summer, but it still runs pretty bad.

Actually.. You'd be surprised as to what you can fit in a station wagon... or a 1990 Plymouth Sundance (I speak from experience on that one... We hauled all of our production gear in my 2nd production class in college in the back of my Sundance!)

Eek.. My girlfriend dumped her last year. It was a 97 Escort wagon.
what i do to move the jib is to use one hand on the steering handle and the other on the handle for the arm to help guide it. you pretty much always want to pull as that will have less chance of tipping that way
( ... )

and then buy my own jib and start pulling in the big bucks.
This is the homebrew JIB I got to use @ Marquette. Seriously made from spare parts.
