A little searching reveals some recipes for Frisian food, including:

Grauwe earten mei spek en sjerp (marrowfats with side pork and syrup)

Sûpenbrij (basically flour and buttermilk made into a hot cereal)

Sûrkoal mei banaan (sauerkraut with banana)

Frisian sipelsop (onion soup with hard boiled eggs and cumin cheese!)

Syrup? What kind of syrup?

Depending on the syrup, I would venture to say that I would enjoy all of them but the one including bananas.

Pancake syrup. Someone else can enjoy my share! Notice I'd eat something called a MARROWFAT without knowing what it was before eating savory food with pancake syrup. :)

I didn't know you were Frisian! When alanbostick and I were in Amsterdam last summer, we stayed with an American friend and her Frisian husband. He's also the only person who has ever translated Tin-Tin into Frisian.

I've had the siplesop, and it is very good indeed.

I'm a little more cautious about the sauerkraut and banana. Eek.
