Old Navy "Sneaky" Price Increase, Spread the Word!

So during the summer transitioning into fall, Old Navy has been having some really nice pieces on their site. Among all the unfairness ON has with their plus size line including ( Read more... )

$55 for a pair of skinny jeans? Look at ON acting like Torrid or Lane Bryant over here...

I totally agree with your points on ON. For a couple years, I completed stopped shopping there due to a serious decline in decent plus size styles, but I like quite a few things they've released the past few months. I haven't noticed any price increases, but ugh. It sadly doesn't surprise me for ON. They are so inconsistent in so many ways!!

Also, as a social media worker for a major corporation, I can say it's completely possible that your post was deleted due to an automated moderator. Words like "hell" or even you using "XX" (for porn-related reasons) could flag your post. As far as I know, larger companies tend to have filters like that. Hopefully ON owns up to the issue though and does a better job going forward.

That's exactly how that went with me. When I graduated, I needed some business casual pants and tops, they also came out with some really nice dresses too. So I've been going on and off their site just to window shop and plan my next purchases. But now, this just sucks- all the planning and budgeting just to afford work clothes shot because I have to pay $10 extra ON TOP of the mark-up from straight sizes. Thanks for the advice about the post! They replied with

Well at least they're passing it along. Still it makes me sick to think about that kind of jump in prices. It's no wonder plus sized women still aren't as free with spending our money on fashion. Stuff like this is why we don't buy up things many times unless they're cheaper, as in close to the prices straight sized women pay. Because being fat doesn't mean we get paid more by the pound...*sigh* If only, right?

$55 dollars? I'm sorry, but there's no excuse for something from Old Navy to be that expensive unless it's outwear, and either wool or leather. Especially if it's online and you can't try it on. :(

Exactly! $45? Fine, sure, I would be willing to pay for it given how often ON runs 30% to 40% off sales. But raising the prices just to almost negate the point of the sale is unfair especially when straight sizes can walk into a store and buy it no problem.

Another issue with ON - they'll charge $45 for a pair of "plus size" jeans that run at minimum two sizes smaller than "regular" sizes, then put them on "sale" for $42, making them ineligible for 40% codes. 😒

It's so disappointing. They used to be one of the places I shopped most, but their quality and style has gone down, and price gone up. Some years their jeans fit me great, than 3 years in a row they fit terribly. I haven't bought new jeans in years. It's depressing.

Keep posting it!!!

My biggest gripe is how confusing the plus size sizing is--I have ordered the same thing in a 2x and an xxl for comparison and sometimes the xxl is even roomier/more comfortable than a 2x would be. It seems like you can always get the straight size clothing at some killer deals but the second you move into plus size they want you to pay full price and my experience has been the same as yours, extremely wonky sizing
