Dress pants and flats?

Hello fats, and Happy New Year! I come today asking for guidance and opinions.

I am...not a fashion person. Not to say that I'm not fashionable, but more that I value comfort and my personal sanity over trendy fashion. XD Over the past year I've been very much trying to expand my wardrobe and what I feel comfortable in, and while I've come a ( Read more... )

I wear flats and dress pants a lot to work recently. I'm pregnant so the flats are a MUST at this point. Especially toward the end of the day, my feet tend to swell and my flats have a little more give than my actual dress shoes and are easier to walk around in. I also like to mix it up, so having lots of color options helped me spice up my previously bland work wardrobe ( ... )

Thank you, that would be awesome.

I too prefered the look of round toe shoes with wider leg pants, but it seems like I was in the very small minority on that call so I started doubting myself!

I wear flats and dress pants ALL the time. I'm a latin dancer outside of work, so at work, eff heels, my feet are usually killing me by then! I have a bunch of flats in a variety of colours, and I get some patterns in that way too.

I go for rounded toe flats for the same reasons as the poster above, and in winter go for black socks/tights. In summer I don't bother.

Thank you! I was never really a shoe person until recently, and it's a bummer to have to wear boring shoes all the time! Looks like it's time to start hemming all my pants up to flat length. :D

I personally don't mind the pointy-toed flats and wider-legged pants look. I have a pair of flats by Rockport -- I think they're called Ashika? -- and they are supremely comfortable but still quite dressy. And actually, they look good with skinnier legged jeans, as well. If you have a hard time finding pants with a different leg silhouette, maybe consider taking a pair you've already got to a tailor and see if they could make them a little slimmer?

I could tailor them, but I'm a student low on both time and money. If I find the time to hem all my pants to the proper length I'll conciser it a minor miracle.

I think flats and pants can work just fine. It's simply a matter of pairing the right flat with the right pants. Another option if you joints can take it are platform flats, or small wedge shoes.

I also like playing with different looks. As long as I can get them in a wide width things like oxfords in funky colors/patterns/finshes add a bit if flair or pointy toes.

I LOVE my danskos. I've had so many issues with other shoes but I wear these everyday and have no problems. I get planters fasciitis if my shoes don't give me enough support. They have a lot of funky prints and textures available. If orthotic shoes aren't in your budget I'd get a couple pairs of insoles to use in shoes without much support.

I have a pair of Danskos. :D They are really supportive, but unless they are slides or low cut, they always bite into the back on my ankle, no matter how much I break them in. :( Which really sucks, cause they are some of the most supportive shoes I've found.

I don't know why I never thought of getting insoles - duh moment - I will definitely be doing that as well. TY!
