I don't have these boots, but I do know people have complained about the shaft size of AE boots before. However, since those aren't a high boot like you said, I think the measurement reflects the ankle opening. Maybe? Heh.

AE does returns on boots, so if they don't work you can return them. I hope they do fit, though! :)

Ooohh, I never thought of that! I stretched out a pair of leather flats once with wool socks and a hairdryer and it totally worked. Thanks!

It's going to depend exactly where they measured those 10.5 inches, too. If it fitted exactly on my ankle, that would fit me just fine. Two inches higher, no way. Good luck!
