Upcoming Sales...

Hello! This is my first post. I have been a lurker for a long time, but I only started commenting recently. I'm 26. I'm a feminist. My style used to be sort of artsy-goth, but these days it's more business-casual (sigh). My hobbies include birdwatching, D&D, and drinking coffee. I think you're all awesome and inspiring!

Moving on to the actual ( Read more... )

Can't help you with 1-3...but for #4 - I've got a black metal bedframe that I got from IKEA about 10 years ago that is very sturdy and not noisy in the least. I don't see it on the IKEA website now, but this one is kind of like it: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S79889566/

I too was going to recommend IKEA - I actually work there. :-)

I have the LEIRVIK - http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S99849961/
But I really like the DUKEN - http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S39903140/ - it is a metal frame with a removable/replaceable fabric headboard cover for the metal part, so you could change it out with something different. We sell two different ones premade though.
The LILLESAND - http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S49849973/ is also great.

I love IKEA, but I have a headboard that I was hoping to use with the bed-frame. It's too bad they don't sell standardized headboards/frames, because I think it would be a huge success!

That is a good point, thanks! I googled it, and it looks like they've got a 14-day window for price adjustments.

soft shell pants: i saw some at junonia.com

bedframe: I'm loving my Knickerbocker emBRACE. it's silent, will hold 5000 lbs and you can sit on the end of the bed and it won't flip up. I got mine from Macy's but Sleepy's carries it as well. http://www.knickerbockerbedframe.com/architecture.php

Wow, that frame looks amazing! Thank you!

The pants at Junonia aren't on sale anymore, sadly.

How much was that bed frame? It looks/sounds awesome. My boyfriend and I have a nice bed from Rooms to Go but recently its gotten very squeaky (its wood, so it scares me enough without squeaking!) and it sometimes falls down in the frame, also scary. That bedframe looks pretty pricey, but I'd love something more sturdy!

I can't remember exactly, but somewhere in the $3-400 range. If you love your bed but just want to shore it up, check out their other product, the bedbridge! It's a lot cheaper.

I wanted to buy that product initially, but hadn't found the right bed yet when our frame gave out. So I guess we'll just get a headboard to go with the super frame.

The 17th! Yay! I knew it must be soon, but that's even better than I hoped.

Those are both the hard/insulated variety, sadly.

The new f(x) line at Lands' End is very exciting, though! The ski jacket looks really nice, and I love the fact that they're including cuffs with thumb loops on several of their jackets now.

EDIT TO ADD:

Woa! That's great, especially for something expensive. Thanks for the headsup.

Thank you! I'm going to the LB in Buffalo on the weekend and I was hoping for a great sale.

I'm not sure when LB starts their Black Friday stuff. I usually don't pay much attention to their sales until their "Buy two, get one half-off" bra sale after Christmas. (And there's your answer to question 2! XD)

Also, I'm not really that up on where to get plus-size sportswear. Being the crafty-sort, I typically make mine (I'm a runner and yogi when my shoulder isn't acting up the tartar like it is now.) My inner cheapskate cringes at spending more than $20 on a garment I'm going to sweat in!

For basic metal frames I always think of my local Value Village or Goodwill. In the locations near me it's standard to find a few metal bedframes back in the furniture section. I can't speak to their noise level though... the only matress/bedframe I've ever purchased was a new futon/frame almost 15 years ago... ever since, I've been the lucky recipient of gently used, second-hand mattresses and frames from friends and family. :)

Good idea about second hand furniture. Ebay is also not a place for second hand furniture. I have got some great vintage furniture on there and I could imagine that you could find some good bedframes there.

I have no idea why added the "not", I meant "good". Tiredness mangles my grammar.
